Raavan: Enemy of Aryavarta
what is the use of a hero without a villain? Raavan is very well known as the ten-headed beast in India who mercilessly kidnapped Sita and flew away to Lanka. but before calling him a beast we never tried to know what made him a beast. Raavan was once a child too. but he was greatly detested by his own father rishi Vishvara. no child can bear hatred from their own father. he was too small to understand why his father looked down upon his mother and him.but still the little Raavan stood strong and innocent against the hatred. but the daily humiliation slowly started a monster in him. a monster that had no cure, he thought. but there was one “the Kanyakumari” the only person who made his mind and heart clam and more humanly. but his destiny was not so great maybe it decided to make him a beast eventually. like everyone he had a breaking point in his life, it was named Kumbha Karna, his brother who loved him the most. after Raavan realizing that his brother had a threat because of superstition from his own father, who was away in greek marrying another lady then.
mad with his father and his people, Raavan flees away with his mother, brother, and his loyal uncle leaving his birthplace behind. little did he know he was going away from the Kanyakumari the only cure for the monster inside him. in order to become rich and to look after his family, Raavan becomes a smuggler and gains limitless power and wealth. in his every step he has his devotee, his brother”Kumbha Karna” who has a heart as pure as gold and who does anything for his brother.but one day, Raavan gets a second opportunity in his life, to change, to become a good human, he meets Kanyakumari again after many years. but sadly that is the part of his life when he turns into a cureless monster forever. according to me, Raavan is not a book about a beast who took away Sita but it’s about an innocent child who was tortured mentally to the core just like young ram was tortured or maybe more than that, but one became the god and another became the beast. read this heartbreaking fiction about the life of Raavan by Amish and strongly believe that the rise of this monster is because of the superstitious, stupid people who once lived in India.
